In recent years, the rapid development of urban rail transportation in various cities in China has steadily increased the pressure put on transport network operations, and operational safety issues have become increasingly prominent as a result. Improving the safety and stability of rail transportation operations has therefore become a top priority.
As a leading professional industry event platform on the topic of rail transit vibration and noise reduction in China, the 8th Rail Transit Vibration & Noise Reduction Symposium 2020 has the strong support of Beijing Jiaotong University, Southwest Jiaotong University and Tongji University, and will be co-hosted by Shanghai Intex Exhibition and Yiduo Information Technology (Shanghai). The symposium this year will explore the two overarching themes of “Energy Conservation through Integrated Management of Wheel-Rail Friction & Wear” and “Metro Vibration & Noise Reduction Integrated Solutions Development”.
The friction and wear generated between railway tracks and the wheels of rail transit vehicles not only shortens the lifespan of both wheels and rails, but also increases the energy consumption of trains and reduces the traction and braking force between wheels and rails, affecting the train stability and safety and increasing the likelihood of accidents. This is of increasing importance as rail transit TOD (Transit-Oriented Development) has become one of the main directions for the reform of investment and financing of most urban rail transit in China, with a large number of rail transit superstructure property development projects having already been rolled out nationwide. In actual operation, the construction of subway superstructure developments (including depots, stations, etc.) has produced poor building vibration isolation effects. Serious noise and vibration issues affect the normal life of the superstructure incorporated office buildings and residential areas, unfortunately leading to many adverse effects.
In view of the above topics and issues, how to effectively adopt comprehensive solutions and integrated management practices will be discussed in this forum, and we sincerely invite industry peers to register for the conference and participate in mutually beneficial deliberation.
